Xi‘an Refra Tungsten & Molybdenum Co., Ltd. (Refra) is the core research and production center for W & Mo materials and products of Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research (NIN). Its predecessor can be traced back to 1965, and it is the birthplace of tungsten and molybdenum processing materials in China. It is now affiliated to the listed company Western Metal Materials Co., Ltd. (WMM). The company possesses multiple sets of powder metallurgy, pressure processing, special welding and precision machining equipment, including a 25MN hot rolling mill (950 mm). The pure tungsten and tungsten alloy plates and W/Cu composite components produced by Refra have been applied as PFM or PFU in EAST, BEST and CRAFT. In addition, Refra has supplied PFM for the prototype of HL-4 divertor and the ITER blanket first-wall.
XI’AN REFRA TUNGSTEN & MOLYBDENUM CO., LTD. (REFRA) is not only a high-tech enterprise but also a holding subsidiary by Western Metal Materials Co., LTD. (listed company, stock code “002149”).
