Stainless Steel ASTM A182 F304/F304L Flanges are widely used in low pressure piping systems, as no welding is involved while connecting the flanges to pipes or other equipment. However, the flange may be welded around the joint after assembly, but it is not considered a satisfactory method of increasing its applications.
Blind flange is used to terminate the end of a piping system. The blind flange is basically a flange that does not have a hub or a bored center. Blind flanges can also be used to seal a nozzle opening on a pressure vessel.

Le matériau ASTM A182 Gr F304L est une spécification pour les brides de tuyaux en acier inoxydable forgées pour un service à haute température. Il s'agit d'un matériau de forgeage utilisé pour fabriquer des pièces forgées nues ou des produits forgés et usinés qui impliquent une application pour un service à haute température.
L'ASTM A182 F304L est l'acier inoxydable le plus polyvalent et le plus utilisé. Il est également désigné par son ancien nom 18/8 qui est dérivé de la composition nominale de l'acier inoxydable 304L qui est de 18 % de chrome et de 8 % de nickel. Il s'agit d'une version à faible teneur en carbone de l'acier inoxydable 304. Les brides en acier inoxydable 304L sont une méthode de raccordement de tuyaux, de pompes, de vannes et d'autres outils pour former un système de tuyauterie. Il peut être utilisé de préférence dans des environnements suffisamment corrosifs pour provoquer une corrosion intergranulaire des soudures et des zones affectées par la chaleur sur les alliages sensibles. Les brides en acier inoxydable 304L offrent une bonne résistance à l'oxydation en service intermittent jusqu'à 1600 °F et en service continu jusqu'à 1690 °F. Il peut être généralement soudé ou vissé.
