Corrosion resistant steel with a chromium content of no less than 12% is the abbreviation for stainless acid resistant steel. The interaction between chromium in steel and oxygen in corrosive media forms a thin oxide film on the surface of the steel, called self passivation film, which makes the steel highly resistant to corrosion in air, water, acid, alkali, and salt.
