A: This is a common challenge. The best methods are:
1.Fan Clutch Wrench Set: This is the proper tool. One wrench holds the large nut on the water pump pulley, while the other loosens the fan clutch nut.
2.Pneumatic Impact Wrench: An impact gun can often shock the nut loose without needing to hold the pulley, as the impacts are too fast for the engine to rotate.
3.Strap Wrench: A large strap wrench wrapped around the pulley can provide enough grip without damaging the fins.
Avoid jamming a screwdriver or pry bar into the pulley, as this can break the fins or damage the seal.

Q: The service manual says to refill with 'OE-approved coolant'. How strict is this?
