A fan clutch is a durable component, but its lifespan depends heavily on how you use and maintain your vehicle. Adopt these smart habits to get the most out of your investment.

1. Avoid Excessive Idling 
When your truck isn't moving, airflow through the radiator is minimal. Prolonged idling causes the engine to heat up, forcing the fan clutch to engage repeatedly and work harder for no reason. This causes unnecessary wear. If stopped for more than 5-10 minutes, consider shutting off the engine.

2. Keep the Radiator Clean
