Semtech acquired this startup enterprise and officially released a new Sub-1GHz spectrum spread spectrum communication chip named Lora to the industry in August of the next year. The maximum receiving sensitivity can reach - 148dbm. Compared with other chips in the same frequency band, the maximum receiving sensitivity of this chip is increased by 20-25db, which is reflected in the improvement of transmission distance by about 10 times in application.The amazing performance soon attracted extensive attention in the industry. In particular, Lora was built based on unauthorized spectrum and aimed at the ultra long-distance low-power wide area Internet of things wireless communication market, which became its promising advantage at that timeHowever, only one transceiver chip based on Lora modulation technology is far from enough to pry the broad market of animal networking. In addition to the painstaking operation of Semtech, Lora's success depends more on its global ecosystem.Huang Xudong, vice president of sales of Semtech China, once said in an interview with the Internet of things think tank, "the Internet of things market is so large that there is no lack of imagination. Semtech is not sure to shake it alone, so we need to work together with our partners. This is not only our own wish, because openness and cooperation are the only way for Lora to develop".

In 2015, Semtech jointly initiated and established Lora alliance with many manufacturers such as efficiency, Cisco and IBM, which is committed to promoting the adoption of lorawan open standards in the world by ensuring the interoperability of all lorawan products and technologies.
