kaplan flow turbine refers to a counterattack type turbine whose water flows into the runner from the kaplan direction and flows out from the kaplan direction along its blade to convert the water flow energy into mechanical energy. According to whether the runner blade can rotate, it can be divided into axial flow paddle type and axial flow fixed paddle type.
The use of kaplan flow turbine head range is generally 3-80m.
The runner of kaplan turbine is composed of runner body, blade and drain cone. The number of blades is less than that of mixed-flow turbine, and the blade axis is perpendicular to the turbine axis.
It is suitable for hydropower stations with medium and low head and large flow.
Under the same head, its specific speed is higher than that of the Francis turbine.
