Polydadmac also known as poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride is a highly cationic polymer used as an efficient coagulant and flocculant in drinking water treatment. It neutralizes negatively charged particles in raw water to form fast settling flocs. This improves removal of turbidity suspended solids and natural organic matter. Both liquid and powder grades are available to meet different plant setups and dosing systems.

Prepare a diluted solution before dosing. For liquid grade typical preparation is 0.5 percent to 5 percent by solids. For powder grade typical preparation is 0.5 percent to 10 percent by solids. The optimal dose depends on raw water quality and should be confirmed by jar tests. Select the dosing point and mixing conditions to achieve fast dispersion without breaking flocs.
Perform jar tests when raw water quality changes. Record dose pH mixing time and settling performance for process control.
