Features

PTC heaters are used to heat solids at a constant temperature. The suitable heating temperature is 0~300°, the normal temperature heating temperature is 50~300°, and the applicable ambient temperature is -40~250°. PTCs with surface temperatures that are too high or too low are difficult to manufacture, and may even have no PTC characteristics.

Overview

Considering safety and reliability, PTC heaters are generally safer, more resistant to isolation voltage, smaller and more stable than traditional heating wires. In some applications, traditional heating wires cannot pass safety certification, but PTC heaters can, so PTC can be used in situations with high safety requirements. However, not all PTC heating element manufacturers and all PTC heating elements meet safety requirements, so we must choose PTC heating element manufacturers with good quality to supply. When PTC is used for solid heating, the main safety and reliability issues are: first, the PTC ceramic body breaks down and burns, causing a short circuit and burning the insulation layer; second, the insulation layer breaks down and leaks electricity, making the shell charged.

Usage Examples
For water heating, PTC heating elements are attached to the bottom of water containers, immersed in water, or allow water to pass through their holes to achieve heating purposes. They can be used in electric boilers, underfloor heating, room heating, showers, solar water heater auxiliary heating, solar panel water heater heating, heat pump (air-source) water heater auxiliary heating, as well as for bathtub, hot spring, and foot bath heating and insulation, handwashing, vegetable and dishwashing water heating, yogurt and natto fermentation, beverage, tea, wine, and milk insulation and heating, steam generation, sauna steam, steam disinfection, etc. For electroplating tank heating, they significantly extend the lifespan of heating tubes. For water heater heating, they prevent dry burning, resist scale buildup, and offer long service life. They can also be used to heat engine oil, diesel, gasoline, or other liquids. When heating flammable liquids with PTC, the process is safe and reliable, avoiding fire hazards.

Classified by shell material
1) Aluminum shell type has low cost, but slightly poor corrosion resistance. Surface corrosion occurs after soaking in water for more than six months.
2) Copper shell type, water permeable type, good high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, bronze salt water resistance, but high cost.
3) Ceramic shell type, low cost, corrosion-resistant, suitable for low-power 10W~1KW.
4) Stainless steel shell, corrosion-resistant, meets food safety requirements; The titanium shell has good resistance to acid, alkali, and saltwater corrosion, but the cost is relatively high and the volume is slightly larger.
5) Stainless steel water pipes are corrosion-resistant and meet food safety requirements, but the cost is relatively high.
6) Aluminum or stainless steel shell coated or coated with fluoroplastic, resistant to acid, alkali, and salt corrosion, non sticky, anti scaling, easy to clean, but relatively high cost and low power density.
