Introduction to the role of car fuses

Car fuses are the usual colloquial name, the official name is "fuses", and their uses are similar to those of home fuses. When the circuit current is abnormal and exceeds its rated current, the fuse acts as a circuit protection barrier. 

Specifications of car fuses

The fuse has two important working parameters, one is the rated current and the other is the rated voltage. When using it, the corresponding fuse should be selected according to the current and voltage of the circuit.
In terms of structure, the general car fuse adopts a blade design. The fuse has an engineering plastic shell, wrapped with a melt structure made of zinc or copper, and the metal melt is connected to the pins.
The conductors inside a car fuse are made of a metal similar to solder. It has a lower melting point than ordinary wire itself. The size of the conductor is calibrated very precisely so that when the rated current is reached, enough heat is generated to blow the conductor and break the circuit. The fuse has two important working parameters, one is the working voltage, the other is the rated current, the owner should choose according to the voltage and current in the circuit when purchasing or replacing.

Type 

1)Blade fuses can be divided into:
Ultra-small blade fuse, small car fuse, medium car fuse, large car fuse. Current ratings are 1-40 amps (A) to large 30-120 amps (A), and voltage ratings are 32 volts (V).
2)Forkbolt fuses can be divided into:
Small forkbolt fuse, large forkbolt fuse. Current ratings are 30-150 amperes (A) to large 40-800 amperes (A), and voltage ratings are 32/125 volts (V).
3)Automotive glass tube fuses can be divided into:
6.35×30mm glass tube fuse, 6.35×31.75mm glass tube fuse, 10×38mm glass tube fuse. The rated current is 0.5-20 ampere (A) to 10×38mm20-80 ampere (A), and the rated voltage is 32 volts (V).

Car fuse models and specifications

In terms of appearance, car fuses are not the same as general household fuses. They are more "mini" than household fuses, and have different colors to distinguish the amperage.
After getting to know the fuse for the first time, let's talk about how to replace and check the fuse, but we must first know where these fuses are installed. Generally, a car will have two fuse boxes, one is located near the driving seat in the car, and is mainly responsible for the electrical appliances in the car. The normal work of the car, such as cigarette lighters, electric seats, airbags, etc.; the other one is installed in the engine compartment and is responsible for the safety of the external electrical appliances of the car, such as ECU, lights, glass water, horn, ABS and other circuits are required. Install a fuse for protection.
A blown fuse may cause damage to its casing, and you cannot see the amperage marked on the top. It doesn't matter. If the fuse is burned out and the amperage value cannot be recognized, we can also judge by its color, which has been introduced above. However, fuses of different colors correspond to different amperages, so just make sure that they are the same color when replacing them.
There is a set of international standards for fuse colors: 2A gray, 3A purple, 4A pink, 5A orange, 7.5A brown, 10A red, 15A blue, 20A yellow, 25A colorless and transparent, 30A green, 40A dark orange. Depending on the color, you can clearly distinguish the size of the different amperage.
