The weld neck flange is characterized by its extended, conically tapered hub, which is specifically engineered for butt-welding to a pipe or pressure vessel nozzle. This design facilitates a full-penetration, circumferential butt weld that ensures optimal mechanical strength and metallurgical continuity across the joint.
