The radiator is the heart of the engine's water cooling system, responsible for quickly dissipating excess heat from the engine into the air to prevent overheating.

The primary function: by circulating coolant, it removes heat from the engine, conducts thermal exchange between the radiator fins and air, reduces the coolant temperature by 20–40 ℃, and then returns it to the engine.

The circulation path: engine water jacket → upper radiator tank → radiator core → lower radiator tank → water pump → back to the engine, forming a closed loop.

Thermal expansion and contraction regulation: the auxiliary water tank (expansion tank) is connected to the main water tank via a bidirectional valve, absorbing expanded coolant at high temperatures and replenishing it at low temperatures to maintain a constant liquid level.
 
 

Maintenance and replacement guide

Check cycle: Inspect the coolant level in the expansion tank every 10,000 km or at the start of each season to ensure it is between MIN and MAX.

Coolant selection: Use the same brand and model of antifreeze, do not add tap water to avoid scale formation and corrosion.

External cleaning: When using a high-pressure water gun to clean the radiator, keep a distance of more than 30 cm to prevent fins from collapsing.

Replacement signs:

• The water temperature gauge frequently approaches the red line;

• Continuous bubbling in the expansion tank (indicating head gasket failure);

• Large-scale oxidation and leakage of the radiator fins.

Replacement steps:

① In a cold state, remove the radiator cap to relieve pressure;

② Drain old coolant → Remove hoses → Detach mounting brackets → Remove old radiator;

③ After installing the new radiator, pre-install hoses to check gaps, then add new coolant;

④ Start the engine to expel air, confirm that both high and low-speed fans are functioning properly, and run for 15 minutes without leakage.
