It is widely used in petroleum, geological exploration and other departments, especially in the field drilling site. It is a simple instrument for daily measurement of drilling fluid viscosity. Since the measured data are largely affected by the colloidal rate and specific gravity, the funnel viscometer cannot be directly compared with the data measured by the rotary viscometer, the static shear force and the rheometer.
