2301997-7 RJ45 with Magnetics using high-quality materials. The housing and insert are made from LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) rated UL94 V-0 for flame resistance. The shield is brass with nickel plating for corrosion resistance. The contact material is a copper alloy, with selective gold plating (minimum 0.76 μm or 30 μinch) over 1.27 μm (50 μinch) of nickel in the contact area. The solder pins are plated with tin over nickel, and the shielding pin is also nickel-plated. Additionally, the connector is capable of withstanding 260°C reflow temperatures.
An RJ45 with magnetics is an RJ45 connector with built-in magnetic components, such as transformers and chokes. These magnetic components provide electrical isolation, signal integrity, and noise reduction in Ethernet networks. Integrating magnetics directly into the RJ45 connector eliminates the need for separate transformers on the PCB, saving both space and simplifying the assembly process. This connector type is commonly used in Ethernet applications to support features like signal isolation and impedance matching.
