Standard 1 kHz (or 1 Hz with the fractional-N option) tuning enables crystal-clean LO substitution and fine scalar sweeps, while the low –80 dBc/Hz phase-noise floor preserves mixer and noise-figure headroom. Fitted with the 110 dB step attenuator, the generator delivers a calibrated +17 dBm to –110 dBm span—wide enough for PA compression, receiver sensitivity and EMC immunity work—yet keeps harmonics at least 50 dB below the carrier to minimise spurs.
Fast band-to-band switching, SCPI/LAN automation and ISO-17025 calibration let the 83624B plug straight into R-&-D or production benches, providing Keysight-grade signal purity and long-term serviceability at a fraction of new-unit cost.
