FR4 material widely used in PCB Assembly
FR-4 material is the most successful and widely used material in PCB processing for many years. This is mainly because, although FR4 substrates contain similar properties and are mostly epoxy resin systems, this range is wide. As a result, today's FR4 materials are commonly used in the most common terminals. For relatively simple applications, FR4 materials with TG values of 130-140°C can be selected. FR4 material with TG value of 170-180 should be selected for multi-layer or thick FR4 circuit boards that have high requirements on heat resistance. With the advent of lead-free welding technology, TD and other indexes besides TG should also be considered together. In addition, higher TG values do not always mean better performance in lead-free welding applications. In other words, as terminal applications expand, so will the range of FR4 materials available.
