Metal mold casting:
Modern technology for making hollow casting molds from heat-resistant alloy steel. Metal molds can be either gravity casting or pressure casting;
advantage:
Casting molds are made of metal and can be used repeatedly (hundreds to thousands of times); castings produced by metal molds have higher mechanical properties than sand castings. When using metal mold casting, the following factors must be comprehensively considered:
The manufacturing cycle is long and the cost is high, which is not suitable for single-piece and small-batch production; it is not suitable for casting with complex shapes (especially the inner cavity), thin-walled and large castings (the mold of the metal mold is affected by the size of the mold material and the cavity processing equipment, casting equipment Capacity limitations, so metal molds are not suitable for particularly large castings)
The mold fee is more expensive than sand mold and cheaper than die casting
Castings produced by metal molds have higher mechanical properties than sand castings. For the same alloy, its tensile strength can be increased by about 25% on average, its yield strength can be increased by about 20% on average, and its corrosion resistance and hardness are also significantly improved;
