Custom-Manufactured Hydro-Turbine Bypass Valve for Hydropower Plants
The bypass valve is an essential safety component of hydro-turbine water conveyance systems. Its main functions include balancing pressure difference between upstream and downstream of the main inlet valve prior to main-valve opening, and diverting partial flow during emergency load rejection to restrain water-hammer pressure rise inside penstock and spiral case, preventing pipeline and turbine over-pressure failure.
Poor sealing, cavitation damage, or unresponsive action of bypass valves can lead to difficult main-valve operation, excessive water-hammer pressure, pipeline stress overload, and severe hidden dangers to hydropower station safe operation.

Anti-cavitation & anti-abrasion trim: Special flow-passage design effectively restrains cavitation and flow-induced vibration, extending service life in high-head dynamic water operating environments.
High-reliability sealing assembly: Hard-faced sealing surfaces achieve low-leakage shut-off performance, stable for long-term intermittent operation in hydropower stations.
Multiple actuator options: Hydraulic or electric actuators available with interlock & linkage control capabilities with turbine governor to satisfy emergency opening-closing logic requirements.
Full customization service: Nominal pressure, diameter, flange standards, connection sizes, actuator installation interfaces, and control signals can be customized for new-build, retrofit, and overhaul projects.
