When emergency patients present with chest pain, dyspnea, or traumatic shock, rapid assessment of oxygenation status is essential.
The finger-clip design allows for quick donning and power-on testing in 10 seconds, making it faster than traditional ear- or wrist-mounted sensors.
Home Rehabilitation Monitoring
For patients requiring home blood oxygen monitoring after discharge, the sensor is compatible with portable home oximeters for easy operation.
A1: It could be due to improper wear or finger placement. Check that the sensor is properly worn. The sensor should be clipped to the tip of the finger, with the light-emitting diode and detector aligned on the fingertip.
If it is correctly worn, check the finger for swelling and any obstructions, such as nail polish.
If all is normal, the sensor is invalid and should be replaced.
A2: It is recommended to change the monitoring finger every 2-3 hours to avoid trying to wear it on a single finger. You can also adjust the sensor clip to a fixed tightness to avoid being too tight or too loose.
A3: It is not recommended to continue using the sensor. The cracked outer protective shell of the sensor means that the shielding layer of the sensor cable is damaged, making it susceptible to electromagnetic interference during monitoring. When used in a ward or operating room, the measurement data will be affected, and the exposure of the internal cable will pose a safety risk. It is recommended to replace the sensor immediately.
