Suitable for transformers and similar devices that require electromagnetic signal shielding. The shielding involves single-end grounding of the braided wire in the external network, which prevents external electromagnetic and magnetic field radiation from interfering with internal wires.

When one end of the shield is grounded, the metal shield at the ungrounded end has an induced voltage to the ground, proportional to the cable length, but without potential circulation in the shield.
