This additive is synthesized via a high-pressure reaction process, presenting as a pale yellow transparent liquid. It serves as a key sulfur-based component in gear oil formulations.

  • Outstanding extreme pressure performance with strong anti-welding properties, preventing tooth surface damage under high-impact loads.
  • Under high friction temperatures, its decomposition products react with metal surfaces to form a protective chemical film, reducing wear and scuffing risks.
  • Exhibits superior solubility in both mineral and synthetic base oils, maintaining stability without precipitation during prolonged storage.

 

Applications & Dosage

 

Widely used in the formulation of various gear oils, metalworking fluids, and other lubricants.

 

Recommended dosage: 1.5–5.0%
