The HW-AMB-ECO laser welding system stands as a state-of-the-art laser welding technology, with its core working principle rooted in the concurrent use of an outer annular laser beam and an inner dot laser beam. This integrated method guarantees more uniform heat dispersion and enhanced welding performance.
Traditional laser welding often encounters problems when the localized heat on the workpiece reaches excessive levels, such as welding distortion, air holes, and fissures. By contrast, the HW-AMB operates like a precise craftsman, optimizing heat distribution through multi-location heating. This process achieves balanced thermal spread, lowers welding tension, and makes workpieces much less likely to deform. The final welds not only have an attractive appearance but also possess strong structural integrity—free from cracks or pores—while featuring outstanding weld firmness and a premium surface texture.
The HW-AMB laser delivers more consistent and stable welding results. The outer annular beam preheats the workpiece and maintains the stability of the molten pool, whereas the central dot beam takes charge of deep penetration welding, producing weld joints without air holes or splatters.
HW-AMB is the abbreviation for Adjustable Mode Beam. Hanwei Laser has invested years of effort in the research and development of the AMB laser beam welding platform.
In the HW-AMB-ECO version, the core and annular parts of the laser beam are fixed and cannot be adjusted, with the AMB laser core ranging from 50 micrometers to 100 micrometers in size.
Slight changes in the laser spot occur when the focal length varies. The HW-AMB-ECO laser beam is focused onto the workpiece surface by means of an optical setup, forming outer annular and inner dot laser beams: The outer ring releases laser energy with low power density, mainly serving to stabilize the molten pool and reduce splattering; the inner dot transmits laser energy with high power density, primarily utilized for deep penetration welding.
