Aramid can withstand temperatures below 200℃ under dry conditions. It is a polycondensation polymer like polyester. It is used as filter material for high temperature applications where polyester will be brittle and fail. Arylon fibers are very resistant to bending and abrasion, better than most synthetic fibers, and usually use special techniques for firing or other post-treatment.
