6oz Twill Weave Fiberglass Fabric Surfboard Glass Fiber Cloth

 
Fiberglass fabrics are woven from yarns of glass filaments. There are two types of glass fiber fabric which are used for surfboard fiberglass cloth, E-glass or S-glass fabric. The tensile strength of S-glass is about 50% higher than E-glass, meanwhile it is 25% stiffer in flex. It has higher physical strength features than E-glass but it is also more expensive. Using S-glass reduces heel dings and prolongs the life of the board. However, E-glass is the most common fiberglass fabric and is always produced in large quantities. It is a ideal high strength and economical materials.

Fiberglass fabrics with different weave, surface finish, and specification used as the reinforcement in a plastic matrix. When combined with a resin the finish fabric forms the "skin" of the surfboard.
 
Unionfull produces fiberglass fabric including surfboard cloth in plain or twill woven. We have twill 4oz, 6oz and 8oz e-glass fiberglass cloth in stock. So twill weave surfboard fabric will be more economical and with less delivery time. Twill weave is a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs (in contrast with satin and plain weave). Each weft yarns weave across the warp yarns in a progression of interweaves into the right or left, forming a pattern of distinct diagonal lines. The twill weave is more pliable than the plain weave and it has better drapability than plain or satin weave.
 
The widths of surfboard fabric which are in stock are 70cm(27.5") for 4oz, 80cm(31.5) for 6oz and 80cm for 8oz fiberglass fabric They are very common widths for surfboard manufacture which can meet most customers' needs.
 
Except for surfboard building, 6oz fiberglass cloth can be used for other applications. For example, it can be coated with PVC coating to be waterproofing; with silicone coating to be electrical insulation or abrasion resistance. It is also a suitable material for septic tank, pipeline repair, removable insulation cover and fire blankets production. Now it is classified as a series for sport euipments building: 4oz, 6oz, 8oz, 7628 and other light weight fiberglass fabrics, which are always used to produce snowboard, surfboard and skimboard.
