Oxidation and corrosion resistance:
In some environments (especially dry environments), 400 series stainless steel exhibits good oxidation and corrosion resistance. But in general, its corrosion resistance is not as good as austenitic stainless steel such as 304, especially in environments containing chlorides, where its corrosion resistance is poor.
Mechanical properties:

Home appliance industry:
Kitchen appliances: 430 stainless steel is commonly used in microwave ovens; 430, 439, 430J1 and other steels are used in washing machine barrels; some parts of range hoods also use 430, 439 and other materials.
Other home appliances: 409L stainless steel can be used for the frame of LCD monitors, and 400 series stainless steel is also used for some components of water heaters.
