For PanelView Plus HMI systems, the 2711P-RC3 works as external storage for .mer files, runtime programs, recipe files, firmware updates, and historical data logs. It is a 256MB blank CF card made for industrial terminals.
Why not use a regular CF card but choose 2711P-RC3?
Factory environments are usually harder on memory cards. Vibration, EMI, and unstable cabinet temperatures can cause failures. The 2711P-RC3 includes industrial ECC (Error Checking and Correction) to help reduce data corruption problems.
What should I do if PanelView shows 2711P-RC3 Card Not Recognized?
Check the card format first. A normal Windows FAT32 format may not match the HMI requirement. Using the Rockwell Automation firmware configuration utility is the safer way to prepare the card.
Which HMI models can use 2711P-RC3?
The 2711P-RC3 fits PanelView Plus CE and PanelView Plus 6/7 terminals with a Type I/II CompactFlash slot. When more space is needed for larger trend files, the 2711P-RC4 512MB version can be considered.
