I. Working Principle
After the workpiece is loaded into the drum, the drum continuously rotates, causing the part to tumble and fall. The plating solution circulates through the micropores, and the primary metal ions are deposited on the workpiece surface under the influence of the electric field.
An external heating tube (corrosion-resistant design) in the plating tank maintains the activity of the solution. A PLC controls the plating temperature (with an accuracy of ±1°C) and the plating time.
II. Equipment Types
1. Linear gantry crane drive, suitable for large plating tanks and complex workpieces, with programmable lateral movement and lifting between plating tanks.
2. Circular vertical lift hanger moves synchronously along a circular track, supporting mixed-type plating production, increasing efficiency by over 30% compared to traditional lines.
3. Fully automatic barrel plating line, integrating a self-rotating drum dripping device and a robotic loading system, suitable for small-batch, high-precision applications such as metal stamping parts and electronic components.
III. Process Flow Example
Pretreatment: Ultrasonic cleaning → Acid pickling and activation → Pure water rinsing;
Electroplating: Drum loading → Plating solution circulation and deposition → Multi-stage rinsing (including wastewater recovery);
Post-treatment: Hot air drying → Rust prevention → Automatic discharge.

I. Core Drum Structure
1. Drum Body
Made of corrosion-resistant PP sheet or stainless steel, the drum features uniformly distributed micropores with a diameter of 1-5mm on the drum wall, ensuring full penetration of the plating solution and contact with the workpiece surface.
A built-in cathode conductive device (such as gravity-loaded contacts) ensures stable current conduction through direct contact with the workpiece.
Common load capacities range from 100-250kg, and custom designs such as cylindrical and polygonal shapes are supported.
2. Door and Sealing System
Equipped with an automatic lid opening and closing mechanism, the door quickly seals via a mechanical lock or pneumatic mechanism to prevent plating solution leakage.
Integrated conductive contacts on the inside of the door complete the electrical circuit with the cathode inside the drum.
II. Drive and Transmission System
1. Drive Method
DC Motor Direct Drive: An external DC motor on the trough side controls the drum speed through stepless speed regulation (5-15 rpm), making it suitable for small-scale barrel plating applications.
Chain Gear Drive: A 45° helical gear steering mechanism and an endless chain enable synchronous operation of multiple stations, making it suitable for large-scale continuous production. 2. Transmission Assembly
The drive shaft and roller are connected by a coupling and equipped with wear-resistant bearings to reduce friction loss.
A frequency converter or independent motor drive supports forward, reverse, and variable speed operation of the roller.

1. Circulation Filtration System
An internal multi-layer PP high-precision filter circulates and purifies the plating solution through a centrifugal pump, reducing impurity deposition.
An integrated waste liquid recovery device reduces plating solution consumption by approximately 30%.

The plating tank is equipped with an external titanium alloy heating tube and a PID temperature control module to maintain the plating solution temperature with an accuracy of ±1°C (50-80°C).
The corrosion-resistant design is compatible with acidic and alkaline plating environments.
3. Automated Conveying System
A robotic arm or gantry crane automatically loads and unloads workpieces, accommodating roller switching of various sizes.
PLC programming controls the hook's lifting and lateral movement, supporting mixed-line production with multiple plating types.
