Application and Characteristics of Aluminum Alloy Positioning Bushes in Chemical Equipment Hardware

• Surface strengthening: anodizing, hard anodizing, PTFE/fluorocarbon coating improve corrosion and wear resistance.
• Medium compatibility: stable to neutral/weak acid-base, alcohols, ketones and partial salt solutions.

2. Light Weight and Mechanical Properties

• Low density (≈2.7 g/cm³): only 1/3 of steel, significantly reducing equipment weight.
• Moderate strength: 6061/7075/2A12 aluminum alloys have tensile strength of 200–500 MPa after heat treatment.
• Good rigidity and toughness: resistant to impact and not easy to crack.

3. Friction and Wear Resistance

• Low friction coefficient: self-lubricating coatings (PTFE, graphite) enable oil-free/low-oil lubrication.
• Controllable wear resistance: hard anodizing (HV 300–600) enhances wear resistance.

4. Machinability and Precision

• Easy to machine: suitable for turning, milling, drilling, CNC and extrusion.
• High precision: dimensional accuracy up to IT6–IT7, coaxiality ≤0.005 mm.
• Good interchangeability: easy installation and replacement.

5. Thermal and Electrical Properties

III. Selection and Application Guidelines

1. Material Selection

• 6061-T6: general-purpose, good corrosion resistance, easy machining, for medium-light load.
• 7075-T6: high strength, for heavy load, vibration and impact conditions.
• 2A12 (LY12): high strength and heat resistance, for medium-high temperature.
• 5052/5083: high corrosion resistance, for strong corrosion environments.

2. Surface Treatment

• Anodizing: basic protection, corrosion and wear resistance.
• Hard anodizing: for high wear and strong corrosion conditions.
• PTFE/graphite coating: self-lubricating, low friction, anti-adhesion.
• Fluorocarbon/ceramic coating: ultra-high corrosion resistance.

3. Fit and Installation

• Clearance fit: H7/g6, H7/h6 to ensure positioning accuracy.
• Axial positioning: steps, snap rings and retaining rings.
• Prevent dissimilar metal contact: avoid galvanic corrosion.

4. Working Conditions Limits

• Temperature: generally -50℃～150℃; hard anodizing up to 250℃.
• Load: mainly medium-light load; heavy load uses steel-backed aluminum bushes.
• Medium: avoid strong oxidizing acids, concentrated strong alkalis and halogens.
