Glabridin has strong antibacterial effects, prevents inflammation, pigmentation and skin roughness caused by ultraviolet rays, can remove superoxide ions, inhibit hemolysis caused by hydrogen peroxide, inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, dopachrome interconversion and DHICA oxidase, and is a fast, efficient and green whitening and freckle removal cosmetic additive. It has the ability to remove oxygen free radicals similar to SOD (superoxide dismutase), and also has the ability to resist oxygen free radicals similar to vitamin E.
