1. It has a wide range of uses. In medicine, camphor is used as a stimulant and local irritant, found in cooling remedies such as Shi Di Shui and Ren Dan. It is also used in the preparation of food flavors such as mint, white lemon, and nut flavors, as well as in the preparation of daily fragrances such as floral water and cosmetics. Furthermore, camphor is used extensively in celluloid and photographic film, as a stabilizer in the manufacture of smokeless gunpowder, and as a raw material for the production of sodium camphorsulfonate.
