Aluminum grade bone ash, made by burning the organic matter from animal bones, has long been recognized by the nonferrous casting industry as a mold release agent that offers numerous advantages unmatched by similar products. Aluminum grade bone ash is not wetted by molten nonferrous metals, therefore, it provides excellent protection for surfaces that contact molten metal, such as molds or refractories in transfer troughs, filter boxes and other vessels.
