Item 1734-TOP is an Allen Bradley PLC Terminal 8 block. A terminal block is an electrical connector with wires being held down by a screw that acts as a link between circuits. To enable connection, this terminal block has connectors to link it to other devices; it has aluminum or copper strands to join different components, which form a power distribution bus. Power is transmitted to the various connected components using this bus. While these elements receive power, a connection between them can be achieved.
The Allen Bradley PLC Terminal block has eight terminals; these Eight terminals refer to the eight strands on this device. This particular terminal block can connect eight different electrical wires in a variety of configurations.
In addition to connecting wires, a terminal block can also prevent shorts, reduce splicing, and conserve space. This Terminal 8 block is used to join wires and as a surge protector. Its application most often leads it to be used on karaoke system or a public address system. It is also used to connect switches and plug devices into homes. In most cases, this terminal needs to be joined to ring terminals and spade connectors.
