The 1756-N2 is an AB ControlLogix Slot Filler used for the standard ControlLogix Chassis. The 1756-N2 has various communication options. These include the RS-232, RS-422, and also RS-485 modules. The backplane current for the 1756-N2 at 5 Volts is 800 mA while the backplane current at 24 Volts is 3 mA. The 1756-N2 offers a power dissipation of 4 Watts and the SERCOS Data Rate for the 1756-N2 is 4 or 8 Megabits per second. This slot filler module has a current draw of 1.2 Amps at 5.1 Volts. The power dissipation for the 1756-N2 is 6.2 Watts while the thermal dissipation is at 21.2 BTU per hour. It provides an isolation voltage of 50 Volts continuous and it can be used on any chassis slot.
The 1756-N2 has a high-performance ability and it is ideal for use in an easy-to-use environment. The slot filler offers a tight integration between the programming software, the controller, and the I/O modules, reducing development time and the cost of commissioning during normal operations. The 1756-N2 is ideal for high-performance standards and it offers the users safety control when used in the same chassis for a truly integrated system. To leverage high availability and to ensure high capabilities even in extreme environments, use the 1756-N2 to meet application needs. The 1756-N2 chassis backplane offers a high-speed communication path for the modules, enabling the distribution of power to each of the modules within the chassis. The 1756-N2 mounts on a ControlLogix® chassis and it acts as a chassis accessory. It requires either a removable terminal block or the 1492 wiring interface module for connecting the field side wiring. The 1756-N2 comes with time stamping capabilities and this helps it in keeping track of the sequence of events on applications. The 1756-N2 offers complete input/output diagnostics and helps in the detection of both system and the field side failures.
