Product Overview
Disc filters (also known as disc filters or wafer filters) are high-efficiency, fully automatic precision filtration devices widely used in wastewater treatment, raw water purification, circulating cooling water systems, and membrane water treatment pretreatment. This equipment employs an advanced disc filtration mechanism. The disc filter element consists of a set of discs with grooves on both sides. The intersections formed by the groove edges trap solids in the water, significantly improving filtration efficiency due to the simultaneous surface interception and deep coagulation effects. Furthermore, disc filters feature efficient backwashing, fully automatic operation, low water consumption, small footprint, and reliable operation. The backwashing process alternates between working and backwashing states, ensuring continuous water output and low system pressure loss. Therefore, the technical advantages of disc filters are significant.
Working principle
Filtration: Water enters the filter through the inlet. Under the combined action of spring force and water pressure, the discs are tightly compressed to form a dense filter element. Water flows from the outside to the inside of the discs. Impurities larger than the groove precision are intercepted at the disc intersections and gaps. Clean water flows out through the central channel of the filter element from the outlet.
Backwashing: When the pressure difference between the filter inlet and outlet reaches the set value, or when the preset operating time is reached, the controller automatically starts the backwashing program. The control valve changes the water flow direction, the discs automatically loosen, and the nozzle located in the center of the discs sprays high-speed pressurized water tangentially, driving the discs to rotate rapidly and flushing out solid impurities trapped on the discs. In multi-unit filter configurations, the backwashing process of each unit alternates to ensure continuous water output from the system..

Modular Design, Space-Saving: The standard modular system design allows for selective combination and high interchangeability; the system is compact and occupies very little space. A unit with a water processing capacity of approximately 300 m³/h occupies only about 4 m².
Reliable Operation, Simple Maintenance: Minimal daily maintenance is required. Components are 100% factory tested and trial-run, requiring no special tools and minimizing the need for spare parts.
Long service life: The filter unit is made of high-tech reinforced polyamide plastic and fiberglass, making it robust, wear-free, and corrosion-free. The filter element does not need to be replaced, ensuring a long service life, and the filtration and backwashing effects do not deteriorate over time.
Low water consumption: Backwashing consumes very little water, only 0.5% of the output water; with air-assisted backwashing, water consumption can be reduced to below 0.2%.
